DFG Project on Optimization of Cyclic Processes Granted

The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) will support a coordinated research collaboration of the Systems Control and Optimization Lab with groups in Aachen and Bielefeld.

The cooperation takes place within the "Forschergruppe Optimierungsbasierte Multiskalenregelung motorischer Niedertemperatur-Brennverfahren" (link to DFG Press Release). The project part lead by Freiburg is on "Numerical methods for optimization based control of cyclic processes" and will focus on embedded optimization algorithms for iterative learning nonlinear model predictive control in the milli and microsecond range. It is funded by about 300 000 Euro, and will be carried out in cooperation with the control group of RWTH Aachen.
