The term ‘power electronics’ can in the most general case be described as the application of switching electronic elements and energy storages such as inductors and capacitors for conversion of electric power. Due to efficiency reasons, which are one of the main driving forces regarding the development of new power electronics technologies, switched power electronic devices are commonly used in electrical energy conversion applications. This talk claims to give an insight into our recent research activities in the field of model based control approaches such as State Space or Model Predictive Control for power electronics devices.
