Abstract:

Vibrational energy harvesting is one approach to supply wireless sensors in industrial applications. There are many different interface circuits in order to extract the harvested power from the piezoelectric generator and store it into a battery. However it's not possible to rank these interface scheme for a given generator due to the lack of an validated model. Therefore the linear standard model for a piezoelectric generator is extended by the behavior of some hysteresis effects. The model parameters can be estimated by measurements. The harmonic balance method is used in order to simulate the periodic steady state of the generator model together with the interface circuit. Finally a proof of concept is given for the transient time simulation.
